Avital: is a fun, quirky, woman-owned business started in San Francisco in 2011. Our mission is to ‘Deepen human connection through interactive food+drink experiences.’ We operate in San Francisco, New York City, and around the globe via our virtual experiences. Our guests include corporate team building groups as well as private parties, locals, and culinary travelers. Avital: has grown as a company from a one-woman-show food tour for locals, to a team of passionate foodies working on the ground and remotely to #BuildAwesomeExperiences for over 100,000 guests and counting!

Our “office” is completely remote, with staff scattered throughout the US, Canada, South America, and Asia/Pacific. Our tight-knit team thrives on quirky positive pranks, lots of gratitude and celebrating wins, shared interests and outside-of-work collaborations, and breakfast sandwich competitions. About the Lead Guide Role

Are you passionate about food? Do you love to tell a good story? Do you love to meet new people?

Avital Tours is looking for a quirky individual to join our amazing community. Our employees love meeting new people, sharing stories, hosting experiences, taking charge, and eating out & calling it “research!”

This isn’t an office job, it’s a dream job.  This is a full time (40 hrs/wk) employee position. Your main responsibilities include going to amazing restaurants, meeting new people everyday, developing strong relationships with our restaurant partners, interacting with our customers, and building an awesome culinary guide team.

As the lead guide, you are responsible for thorough knowledge and maintenance of all neighborhood tours and experiences.  In addition to leading several tours per week, you will also hire new tour guides and attend their tours to uphold our standards and manage/oversee the guest experience.  Your success will be dependent upon your ability to build great tour guide and vendor relationships by consistently representing the company professionally and according to our Core Values.

You should be able to work independently and solve problems on your own, as well as having a positive team attitude.  The abilities to multi-task, create solutions on-the-go, and balance multiple communication-streams, will be keys to success. A demonstrated record of managing a flexible schedule and consistent timeliness are also important. Your tact and think-on-your-feet mentality will WOW our guests and guides and ensure that they feel cared-for and valued.

Our perfect candidate is high-energy, outgoing, comfortable improvising, detail oriented, intuitive and fast-learning, and excited by a flexible changing environment. You love hosting guests, you’re an active listener and intuitively know how to make people happy.  You balance these skills with a strong ability to provide constructive feedback to your team and motivate them to Build Awesome Experiences.  You thrive in an evolving environment and love keeping up on the newest food+beverage trends. Working mostly out in the city with people, balanced with some computer focus time at home feels like the perfect role.

You must be comfortable with mobile technology and have a smartphone, computer, and reliable wifi and data. You should also be able to stand for long periods of time, and walk distances and hills easily.

This job doesn’t conform to standard hours and will require evening and weekend work – your ability to balance work and life in a flexible schedule environment is key to ensure tasks are complete while also preserving your own passions and pursuits outside of work.

Avital Tours is looking for food and story lovers to become part of our incredible team of culinary guides – warm, outgoing, quirky individuals who love talking about food almost as much as they enjoy eating it, and who are great at storytelling!

With us you’d be the host of some of the best culinary experiences in San Francisco. Yes, you’d guide our guests through a flavorful journey made of scrumptious dishes and delightful stories! Imagine hosting your ideal dinner party or cocktail party. You must love meeting new people, sharing stories, hosting experiences, taking charge, and eating out & calling it “research”!

As a culinary guide you would roll up your sleeves and delve into hospitality while nerding out with guests about incredible food and drink. People would be drawn to your outgoing and positive attitude. You have an eye for detail and reading people – are they having a great time? Do they have a napkin? What can you do to make their experience awesome?

This is a part time, flexible employee position perfect for someone with other work/pursuits. Set your availability and work when you want!

Pay is hourly (4 hours per shift) plus guest tips, for a total of $20-$50 per hour. You should be comfortable with mobile technology and thinking on your feet. You should also be able to stand for long periods of time and walk distances and hills easily. Our ideal teammate is able to work independently and solve problems on their own as well as having a positive, team attitude. Consistent, reliable timeliness and the ability to manage a flexible schedule are key.

Our culinary experiences take place 7 days a week, with start times between 11am and 6pm.
