We are hiring an Operations Manager in New York City for 5-10 hours per week which requires a mix of remote and on the ground work. We do not have set hours or an office, but the position will require availability for at least 1-2 hours of work per day.
You will manage a team of quirky culinary guides in NYC and work remotely with our teams in San Francisco and Los Angeles (thank you google video chat!). You are excited to create relationships with restaurant partners (bring our restaurant partners candy on Halloween in a reverse trick or treat adventure, anyone?), help clients discover the best NYC pizza slice, hire and manage other awesome guide hosts, gloat when your team receives five star reviews from our guests, and continuously invite new restaurants to be stops our experiences.
As the New York City Operations Manager you will also host our culinary experiences and roll up your sleeves and delve into guiding yourself. You’re usually the one to host cocktail parties walking around offering water and making sure guests have had enough to eat. You have an eye for detail and reading people – are they having a great time? Do they have a napkin? What can you do to make their experience awesome?
Not only do you drool over avocado toast, but you are organized and detail oriented. For reminders you trust your handy and helpful friend Slackbot, you nerd out when new features are released in Asana, and you love checking off tasks from your to do list. Asking questions and collecting resources is innate to you since you know it will get you closer to a solution. Flexibility, reacting quickly, and thinking on your feet is a skill you feel you can show off to others. You are a problem solver and love puzzles so building a project timeline and hitting deadlines is satisfying to you.
This is a fast paced, start-up environment that is growing quickly. Thinking on your feet and creatively, while problem solving with a growth mentality is crucial. We are a fast growing business, so there is growth potential for the right candidate.

In fall of 2019, when we finally decided to take the plunge and hire a Sales Assistant, we barely could have dreamed about how awesomely you would step up and #SeizeOwnership of the then-new role. We figured, at minimum we needed someone with a flexible schedule, who was solid and dependable, who we could toss 3-5 hours a week of miscellaneous sales support work to – like inputting all the job titles from email signatures into our customer database on HubSpot CRM (yeah, sorry that got backlogged…) or researching lists of interesting mid-size companies in LA that we might target as potential new team-building guests.
Little did we know that within the first quarter you’d already be covering for us with clients on days we’re out of office, fielding phone calls with style and that honest and authentic way you have of chatting with new people like you’ve known them for years, plowing through inboxes and Asana task-lists like a productivity machine!
We were so excited on your 6 month anniversary with us to offer you more hours and have you take on running LA private event sales! It was an easy “yes” when the leadership team got together to discuss it. Of course they can handle it! They’ve got the people-skills, creativity, critical listening and thinking chops, attention to detail, understanding of data and trends and they LOVE what we do! They GET IT. And they want to help our guests find an awesome culinary experience for their team that’ll be the best team-building they’ve ever done.
We can’t wait to have you in our weekly team meetings, brainstorming solves for issues, coordinating with the Product team about what our guests are looking for next, checking in with the Operations manager to make sure we’re on point with guest expectations, and bringing your awesome ideas to the table!

With us you’d be the host of one of the best culinary experiences in New York City. Yes, you’d guide our guests through a flavorful journey made of scrumptious dishes and delightful stories! Imagine hosting your ideal dinner party or cocktail party. (You must love meeting new people, sharing stories, hosting experiences, taking charge, and eating out & calling it “research!)

- You have a passion for food (i.e. chef’s tables is one of your favorite Netflix series)
- You have a saving account exclusively for eating out
- You think the best way to explore a new culture or a new city is through food

This is a part time, flexible employee position perfect for someone with other work/pursuits. Set your availability and work when you want!
Pay is hourly (4 hours/ tour shift) plus guest tips, for a total of $25-40 per hour. You should be comfortable with mobile technology and ideally have a smartphone. You should also be able to stand for long periods of time and walk distances and hills easily. Our ideal teammate is able to work independently and solve problems on their own as well as having a positive, team attitude. Consistent timeliness and the ability to manage a flexible schedule are key
We also love discovering new food venues as a team, so get ready for scrumptious team-building outings!
Our culinary experiences take place 7 days a week, with start times between 11am and 6pm.
