Koreatown Food Tour

Our Koreatown Food Tour visits the most densely populated and ethnically diverse neighborhood in all of Los Angeles which in the past few year has seen an explosion of innovative and trendy restaurants. Stroll through the historic Korean neighborhood learning about its role during the L.A. riots of 1992 and how Koreatown and its residents rallied together and became more inclusive, tolerant, and united, also while hearing the stories of chefs, restaurant owners and industry experts who have made Ktown their home. Our progressive meal in Los Angeles' Koreatown concludes with mouthwatering desserts. This is not a typical Koreatown Food Tour - its a culinary experience!

Our 4-course progressive prix-fixe dining experience begins with a welcome drink and then visit 4 restaurants  – two appetizers, one entree, and one dessert. Our focus is on quality not quantity. Yes, you’ll leave satisfied, but we want you to taste and experience food in a new way – and to us its about the quality and flavor! Great things come in small packages…

Appetizers

Sample a true representation of the Hispanic meets Korean neighborhood with a kimchi and chorizo fried rice empanada with kimchi aioli at a Colombian-Korean fusion restaurant and art gallery for local K-Town artists (EscaLA)

Beat the summer heat with some refreshing mul naengmyeon, a sweet, sour, savory cold soup that boasts a bounty of buckwheat noodles, asian pear, cucumber, radishes, green onion, and boiled egg in a cool pool of homemade chicken stock (Soowon Galbi)

Enjoy a festival de moles from James Beard Award-winning chefs. Taste from your selection of six traditional Oaxacan moles, and if you’re feeling particularly adventurous…try their deep-fried grasshoppers! (Guelaguetza)

Entree

Sample smoky, sweet, spicy braised short ribs Korean BBQ with traditional “banchan” or “side dishes” which include pickled radishes, kimchi, candied lotus root, and marinated mung bean sprouts. Wrap it all in a crisp cold lettuce leaf, and enjoy!

Dessert

Bite into a handcut “Simpson’s-style” donut, a playful pink pastry covered in colorful candy-coated sprinkles, from an LA institution which has been family-owned and operated for over 30 years (California Donuts)

Savor a sweet red bean steam bun at a hidden gem praised by Anthony Bourdain who makes all of their dumplings by hand (Myung In Dumplings)

* Each tour has 4 stops and rotate based on tour date and time. While we love the diverse ways our guests choose to eat, we can only accommodate vegetarians, pescatarians, gluten-free or pregnant guests. We unfortunately cannot accommodate any other dietary restrictions, allergies or food preferences at this time, as there simply isn’t always a “next-best” option. Please note that this tour may include nuts, dairy, seafood, and pork.

  • Intimate tour groups limited to 12 people
  • This is a social dining experience. We feel the best dining experiences are the ones in which we’re seated around tables sharing food and stories with others. Therefore, we have a 4-person minimum. If the minimum number of guests is not reached, we will contact you to reschedule onto another time or date, or offer a refund.
